The Main Street of America Route 66 Centennial Caravan, which took place from June 6-25, 2026, was organized by the Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership. Certified as an official Route 66 Centennial event, it provided an opportunity to highlight preservation success stories in all eight states that make up the Mother Road. It also served as a Call to Action for future preservation needs that can be supported by the Road Ahead's Route 66 Centennial Preservation and Economic Development Grant Program.
In addition to the 'core' organizers participating from preservation organizations and other partners, members of the public were encouraged to participate for as long or as little as they liked - and hundred of people responded. From newcomers to roadie veterans, hundreds of people came out to cruise with us or meet us in the communities that call Route 66 theirs.

In 1952, a caravan cruised US Highway 66 to honor the road's nickname of the Will Rogers Highway. As the road turned 100 years old, another cruise was organized to mark the occasion! Route 66 fans from across the world joined the caravan - some for a few hours, others for a few days, and hearty few for the entire journey! Check out the full schedule of the trip here.
